Welcome to the new HERE WeGo!

HERE WeGo is a free navigation app that guides local and global travelers on journeys both familiar and foreign. The app now has a fresh, new design and clearer, easier to use navigation.

Enjoy a more carefree journey and reach your destination effortlessly, however you need to get there. Get there on foot with easy-to-follow walk guidance. Take public transport in more than 1,900 cities around the world. Or use turn-by-turn voice guidance with accurate driving directions and go by car. You can even find parking at your destination and get guided directly to it.

Visit the same places often? Save them in a collection to stay organised and find them easier. Or use shortcuts to get directions to them in one click

Need to make an extra stop or want to go a specific way? Simply add waypoints to your routes and HERE WeGo guides you there.

Want to save your mobile data and stay on course even without an internet connection when travelling? Download a map of a region, country or continent and complete your journey while staying totally offline.

I prefer HERE WeGo over Google Maps for driving. The timing of the voice notifications works better for me. Also offline maps are way better because I can download maps by country or region instead of a rectangle. Not trying to be a social network or an app to rate companies in contrast to Google Maps is another big plus. I've used it for several thousand kilometers abroad and always arrived in a reasonable time. Speed limit notifications are useful but you still have to pay attention of course.

I've tried to use the app, as I'm in the process of "de-googling", and I've ended up disappointed by it. Rerouting doesn't really work, there are no alternatives at a glance, the speed limit doesn't actually do anything, it will give you an idea of traffic delay but nobody is using the app so they can only estimate, often wrong, company addresses are wrong, or just don't exist..

Last update messed it up totally, application crashes with no warning and is not usable anymore. I loved the App since my Symbian Nokia N8, it was superior to most of the systems out there (and offline), but they just make it worse with each new release... Edit 2025-07 I tried it again during my holiday and I like how it improved. I didn't experience any crashes this time, it actually works very well. Only downside is the voice navigation doesn't work in my car when connected via bluetooth.
