I wish I'd picked a different company & app to start investing. This co. is SO SLOW to settle funds that I have lost over $3200 since starting the app a few weeks ago. It doesn't tabulate or track settled funds in a logical manner, either (e.g. requested deposit date; actual deposit date; etc.). It's just a list, so if you make deposits in the same amount regularly, they're hard to track. Also, I experimented with "margin" investing & it locked up my assets and account while market soared.

It's a great platform. One of the more polished ones I came across looking for a new brokerage. Unfortunately they don't allow you to transfer an existing account in from another brokerage. Probably so they don't have to pay the transfer bonus. Tried multiple times with three different accounts. They all fail. Public said it was the clearing house but I contacted the clearing house and they said it was Public. Too bad. I really liked the app.

public is a huge downgrade from robinhood. UI is very similar, but the quality of the UI is terrible. I placed a limit order for an options contract. I click edit and get to the edit screen to change the price of my limit order. I GOT TO THE SCREEN TO EDIT, but somehow the order did not cancel and I ended up buying 2 of the same contract, which I did not want. plus the first contract got filled at a way higher price. never had this issue on robinhood
