The Lufthansa app uses an Android Foreground Service during the sign-out process to ensure that logout operations continue and complete successfully even if the app is moved to the background or closed by the user. This security feature helps ensure that active sessions are terminated and authentication data is removed from the device.

Ratings and reviews

The app and their online check-in are useless. Unable to check-in individual passengers from a group booking. Other airlines (BA eg) are able to manage it, why not LH? Edit: app has been updated - still useless! A single passenger check in on a group booking is impossible. The app is clunky and soooo slow. I got as far a "Scan Documents", ater 10 minutes of waiting for the page to load, I gave up! LH take a look at BA's app, that's how to do it!

Booking flights usually works, but checking in is cumbersome (despite checking all the right boxes it will not remember passport data so I have to scan or manually type each time). And at the airport is is downright useless. Push messages that boarding starts are based on planned rather than actual schedules, leading to grumpy passengers milling around the gates rather than relaxing in comfort. Latest upgrade made it harder to access boarding passes. Do you REALLY hate your passengers that much?

Unable to download boarding pass and to use this on my mobile to board my flights, as i can with apps from other airlines. So, despite having checked-in using the app the evening before, and having uploaded covid certificates and documents to Lufthansa via the app, I had to join a queue at the airport and check in properly, in-person. This was frustrating and caused me some anxiety. It made everything I'd done on the app before going to the airport completely pointless.
