In my experience with the app, I also found that it didn't really auto connect to nearby wifi. And similarly to what another has said, I feel like it caused my phone's battery to drain much faster because it was constantly running in the background trying to find a wifi source. The app could find wifi sources but again never automatically connected in the two weeks I was in Japan. This happened in the large cities as well as mid and rural areas.

A solid alternative to buying a pocket WIFI or E-sim if you're only in Japan for a short stay. We found it very reliable in Tokyo, connecting us automatically to various station hotspots, Lawson's, and more. it can be a bit spotty at times with how it connects, but overall I found it to be very good.

heard great things about how convenient this app is. however, it didn't work for me as every time i tried to log in with google it just says 'was unable to log in. please try again' disappointed. update: Although I've already left Japan, I'll definitely try to use the app again in my next Japan trip. i am also changing my rating to five stars as the app development team is so responsive and actually made an effort to the issue i reported. thank you so much!
