About this app

Store your unique credential on a hardware-backed security key and take it wherever you go from mobile to desktop. No more storing sensitive secrets on your mobile phone, leaving your account vulnerable to takeovers. With the Yubico Authenticator you can raise the bar for security.

• The Yubico Authenticator will work with any USB or NFC-enabled YubiKeys

Portable – Get the same set of codes across our other Yubico Authenticator apps for desktops as well as for all leading mobile platforms
Flexible – Support for time-based and counter-based code generation
USB or NFC usage – Insert the YubiKey into the USB port, or simply tap the YubiKey with NFC to a mobile phone that is NFC-enabled to store your credential on the YubiKey
Easy Setup – QR codes available from the services you wish to protect with strong authentication
User Presence – Require a touch on the YubiKey sensor, or an extra NFC tap, to generate new codes for sensitive accounts
Compatible – Secure all the services currently compatible with other Authenticator apps

Except for one glaring deficiency, I really like it. The problem is with the UI ... I can't figure out how to replace an entry. (... or delete it so I can add the new one back in.) It's such an obvious use case, it couldn't have been missed in development, so I figure I must just not be seeing it in the UI.

This works great. It initially threw me because saved credentials only show up when you tap the key with your phone. They really need better documentation of how to use this- I think people are marking it down because they are confused about how this is supposed to work. I think it's pretty cool though.

I got completely confused by the UI in this update. You can still get your hardware key via NFC, but the app itself does you no favors in explaining how or giving visual feedback on when it does it. You have to change the settings under "On YubiKey NFC tap" from "Launch Yubico Authenticator" to "Copy OTP to clipboard" or "Launch app and copy OTP". It copies to the clipboard while providing no visuals. Seeing "No accounts" is confusing. This is operation is not OTP, that's misleading.
