• Access to managed Google Play
• Access to email and work resources

Developers, use the Android Management API (https://g.co/dev/androidmanagement) to manage devices with Android Device Policy.

Permissions Notice
• Camera: optionally used to scan QR codes for enterprise enrollment
• Contacts: used to add your work account to the device, required for access to managed Google Play
• Phone: used for device registration, to report device identifiers to your IT admin
• Location: used to query available WiFi networks, to align with IT policy and offer a new network if current configuration is broken

No idea why, but since June feature update, some random system apps refuse to let me change background data settings and a few other settings. Small print says "Disabled by admin" and error says "Blocked by work policy" but this is not and has never been a work phone (I don't even have a job lol). Bought phone unlocked directly from Google. So it's kinda weird and annoying. I like to disable random stuff that feels intrusive or unnecessary and this creeps me out. Stop being so controlling, babe

I feel compelled to write this after reading the slew of 1-star reviews. I'm aware Google has separated out parts of the OS so they can update via the Play Store rather than monthly/yearly updates. This is a GOOD thing since they continue after your phone no longer gets updates. I checked the claims people are making. On my Pixel the app uses .024GB storage, only permission granted is notifications (meaning no camera or microphone access). It has used 0 battery and auto update is NOT enabled.

UPDATE FROM ≥ WEEK AGO: I tried to uninstall cuz I didn't like what I read in reviews. Having same problem of unable to uninstall. Worse yet, Google Play webpage won't stop running the 'busy' spinning circle icon, indicating that the page is locked. As problem is, inter alia, Google Play servers cuz I close out the app and clear the cashe, as well as force stop and restart it, only to find same problem running the 'busy' icon! Pathetic, this n # of problems with these Pixel 8 Pro phone!
