They are easy use and the cars are in good shape. HOWEVER, make sure you keep up w the extensions! I had been renting one and kept up with the with the extensions all night but I accidentally fell asleep for a couple of hours. I woke up to the parking lot security pounding on my door. The owner of the car was in the parking lot, retreiving the vehicle!! They charged me way too much in fees, dinging me a total of $716 for one day's rental. They kept taking money out of my out for up to a month!

My account verification was blocked and the reason given was that I have lived in France for more than 1 year (which is not true and is clearly indicated on my documents), and would need a French license. This is not the case because I have lived here for less than 6 months and am still eligible to drive with my American license. There is no way to contact them to fix this error. I was blocked while already at the vehicle and had to cancel a huge trip.

Randomly received an email that Getaround is apparently suddenly shutting down in the US to focus on operations in Europe. Kinda weird, but I don't really care; I own my own car and haven't used their services since at least May or possibly before that. Their "fees" had gotten way out of control and they'd been forcing longtime customers to pay deposits and purchase their expensive daily insurance. So to that I say "good riddance". It reminded me to deactivate my account & delete this app. Bye!
