Google’s extensive caller ID coverage lets you know the business that’s calling so that you can answer with confidence.

Call Screen answers unknown callers, filters out detected spammers without interrupting you and helps you learn more about callers that you don’t recognise before you pick up.

Check your messages without needing to call your voicemail – view and play them in any order, read transcriptions, and delete or save them directly from the app.

Visual voicemail stopped working after latest update. I've contacted my carrier and verified it's active and the Visual Voicemail option still doesn't respond when I try to toggle it to the on position. I've power-cycled, reset network settings, removed the sim card, talked to customer support, among other things and it still won't turn on. It's worked great for more than a year, and now nothing.

I prefer Google's overall design language to Samsung's, but the phone app feels like it's stuck in the past. It hasn't evolved in a decade or more, and compared to the sleek, modern interfaces of Samsung and Apple's phone apps, it looks outdated and clunky. The dial pad, in particular, feels ancient. It's frustrating that such a basic feature lags so far behind—I wish someone at Google would give it the attention it deserves!

Very frustrating to have this app on my new phone. Many times the phone rings but nothing pops up to allow me to answer the call!!! Many calls are also not coming through. I don't know if calls are being deemed spam but they're wrong. I'm not receiving important calls and makes it look like I'm ignoring callers. I would rather not have any filter at all for calls. Is there a button to opt out of call screening?

With our latest update to Call Screen on Pixel devices in the US, the Google Assistant now helps you automatically screen unknown callers and filter out detected robocalls before your phone ever rings. And when it’s not a robocall, your phone rings a few moments later with helpful context about who is calling and why.
