Was working great until about a day ago. When I open and read a text message in Android Messages, the messaging app that came with my phone (moto x pure edition) doesn't recognize that I've read that message, thus making my text reminder app think that I haven't read the text. I have several SMS/MMS apps on my phone and Messages is the only one that does this. Fix and this will be a 5 star app once again.
There are other messaging apps that are free with more features than this one. I love the app, but it needs to have the ability to schedule a text message. I feel like that's a pretty basic feature that's in almost every other app. It's just disappointing that Google can't do this for whatever reason. Edit: I dropped the rating a star because they just redesigned the app, and added several new features, but still no scheduling messages. EDIT #2: another redesign, and still no scheduling messages. We're down to one star. Zero if it'll let me.
The app is okay. I'm trying to use it simply cause it's Google. I do like the user interface and I really like the way it handles notifications by keeping them in the notification bar. The only problems are speed and animation. It takes about 3 or 4 seconds just to open a conversation (and I'm using the Nexus 6P). It also feels choppy because of the lack of animation. Make sending animation like Textra and iMessage. It looks so much better. Add these and it's an easy 5 star.
This app is easy on the eyes, simple to use, and all together makes my messaging experience pleasant. However, I have ran into an annoying bug where the app icon on my phone will show me that I have x amount of unread messages, but x is equal to the number of conversations I have currently. I do not know if this is how it's going to work now or if it is truly a bug, but it's getting on my nerves! Still love the app and it does not place a negative on my usability so I will not take any stars away. Just a pet peeve I have with this part. Am I the only one?
Nice work Google. As if your apps for messaging weren't confusing enough, now we've changed the name to Android! Cause that makes it way easier to choose one from the rest! You wouldn't want to merge all of the best features from hangouts, allo, and messenger into one. Cause that would be too easy and makes too much sense.
OK, just started using the app. I wanted to try something different. I'm coming from hangout. I like the Android message cause you can change color, but my biggest issue and for me it's almost a deal breaker is... Why can you change everyone's else color text but your own 🤔😕. What's up with that 😡?!
