Messages by Google is the official Google app for messaging over Rich Communication Services (RCS) with fallback to SMS/MMS. End-to-end encryption secures your eligible communications, so no one (including Google and third parties) can read or view your messages and attachments except the person you’re messaging.

If a website is suspicious or unsafe, you’ll be warned before clicking any links. You can also block and report potential spammers to help stop unwanted and fraudulent messages.

Ratings and reviews

Messages has removed the ability to change the notification sound for all incoming messages to one different than your phone default. I can change the sound for an individual conversation only! This is asinine. I will be removing and using something else. To me, it is very important to have a different-than-default notification sound for ALL messages, so I can know what's happening on my phone just by listening.

I usually use this app more than any of the other messaging apps. It's more convenient for me with the layout and it's in an easier format for me to be able to understand more precisely and more conveniently I can get a lot more done without having to waste that much time figuring out all kinds of other complicated ways to do stuff with the other layouts and formats of the other messaging apps. Unable to send or receive messages when texting becomes really active. Also, attaching a picture is a pain in the grass. You can't simply attach from the pictures folder, you now have to search multiple files and attach ONE picture at a time. I've switched apps. It's dreadful. Re: The reply...Why are you suggesting I visit that website? There's nothing but daily news articles.
