As of May 2024, I saw a note about some new authentication method being rolled out. Since then, trying to access my PC when there's a full screen program running has been horrible. It maintains a connection for 5-10 seconds or until I click on something, then hangs on reconnect attempts. I frequently get failure due to too many failed authentication attempts. It also sometimes reports that the remote PC is not online or that Chrome is restarting on it, neither of which seems to be true.

App is now broken on Google Pixel 5. Google can't even seem to get this app to work on their own hardware. It has worked perfectly for years and now all of a sudden the app has been updated and has a completely different interface and does not have any way to open the keyboard. This makes the app completely useless and now I can't do anything to access my PC from mobile.

After using Chrome Remote Desktop for years, I can say it's a pretty decent way to quickly remote access a computer. However with the recent changes of the app to move away from a dedicated app and into what looks like a sandboxed Chrome extension running on Android, the app feels much more clunky than it used to be. There are quite a few issues that make it less user friendly, including the new keyboard being sized for an ant. The old UI experience was much better.
