Get from A to B with Forest, London’s homegrown shared ebike.
Switch your usual journey by train or bus for a faster, fun, and more sustainable way to get around. Plus, we’re the only shared ebike app that after a Ā£1 unlock, gives you up to 30 free ride minutes on every Pay As You Go (PAYG) ride.

HOW TO GET STARTED:
1. Download the app, create a free account and accept our Terms and Conditions.
2. Find your nearest Forest bike out of thousands across London using the map in the app.
3. Unlock a bike for £1 using the QR codes on the bike itself, or by tapping the selected bike on the app.
4. Enjoy an emissions free ride!

WAYS TO RIDE:
1. PAYG: Simply unlock a bike for £1, get up to 30 free ride minutes, then pay 29p thereafter.
2. Buy a bundle: If you’re making longer trips, or planning multiple trips over a longer time.
3. Subscribe to Forest Plus: If you want the best value riding option.

Please update your app with one simple fix. The auto zoom out after selecting and then unselecting a bike is so frustrating. When I go to a parking area where there's plenty of bikes to choose from, I zoom in to find which has sufficient charge but when I unselect one (as it may have low battery for example) the map zooms all the way back out. I know you can use the "nearby bikes" section but where I work, it's a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest bikes.

This app is extremely unreliable. It normally takes 3 or 4 attempts to hire a bike because every time you scan a bike the app crashes and you have to clear the caches. Also I cycled to greenwich and ended up being charged £15 for parking in a 'forbidden' area. I had no prompts or warnings that I was heading into a forbidden area, and even when I tried to park, it didn't tell me how much the penalty charge would be. It made a £3 journey an £18 one, absolutely disgusting.

It's a useful service, but the app is very buggy. App is slow to load, which is less of an issue when you start a ride, but it's super frustrating when you're trying to end a ride. The app sometimes doesn't recognise you've rented a bike and doesn't let you pause or end it. This means you're wasting your time and money while trying to end your ride. This issue has been happening for years, and it seems like little has been done to fix it. Props to the CS team for being helpful with refunds!
