This seems like a good free option for group messaging. I have two major complaints: 1) it's super frustrating that read status doesn't sync across devices. So if I read messages on my phone, I have to go to my tablet and open all the same messages to get the unread bubbles to go away. As a result, I often either think there are no new messages when there are or I open it thinking there are new messages but I already saw them on another device. 2) it takes too many clicks to get where I want.

1. The notifications haven't been fixed in two yeara. Tapping on it doesn't take you to the thread, but whatever group was last open. You have to manually go to the topic. 2. No notification customization for topics. It just picks whatever it wants. It doesn't even follow the parent group. 3. YouTube links just stopped working this year and it errors out. 4. They just "added" an edit message feature which was in the app for years then it disappeared this year and has now shown up again.

Amazing app, I use it for a lot of school stuff and it's a great form of communication for 30 people or so to use rather than a group chat through text. One problem though. I signed up a while ago and used my deadname to sign up since I hadn't had a preferred name yet, but when I go to change it I can see the change on my profile but not on my messages. I don't know if this is a personal thing or everyone can see my username as my deadname, but if that could be changed, I'd greatly appreciate it
