Google Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts by adding a second step of verification when you sign in.
This means that in addition to your password, you'll also need to enter a code that is generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone.

The verification code can be generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone, even if you don't have a network or mobile connection.

* Sync your Authenticator codes to your Google Account and across your devices. This way, you can always access them even if you lose your phone.
* Set up your Authenticator accounts automatically with a QR code. This is quick and easy, and it helps to ensure that your codes are set up correctly.
* Support for multiple accounts. You can use the Authenticator app to manage multiple accounts, so you don't have to switch between apps every time you need to sign in.

I love the app - works great! But wanted to let you know that after the most recent update it says syncing will continue once your device is online - even when my phone is online and has an active cellular or Wi-Fi connection. Not sure why this is happening or how to fix it. If I use the sync clock feature it just says it's already synced. Thanks so much for a great app and any suggestions to fix.

Unless the directions start showing me results, and I can find a version of 'Sesame Street' level directions, I see no use for this app because it's going nowhere fast for me. I find this disappointing. Google products are usually easily understandable and can be worked with. But this mess? I never had this app, I haven't any codes I used previously, thus there's no way to set this app up for first-time use. If I could give this a big, fat ZERO, I would. Not impressed.

After an update a year or 2 ago, codes no longer automatically refresh after the timer completes. Instead, you must now manually refresh by pulling down on the screen, rotating the phone to switch from portrait to landscape (or vice-versa), or holding down on an entry to edit it (which will still refresh all entries). The basic functionality of an authenticator app is to display a valid code which does not currently function properly.
