This app is intended to facilitate and encourage the use of public transit. It falls woefully short of this and actually discourages it goal. One cannot purchase bus/train fare from the app, you must first find a location to purchase a physical card, completely negating the purpose of an app. Then, when you finally find a place to purchase said card, the app rarely recognizes the app and fails to load the balance. This has got to be one of the worst apps I've ever downloaded. Just avoid it.

Hi Brian, sorry to hear about your experience. At this time you are unable to purchase tickets from the PRESTO App. When loading via NFC please ensure your PRESTO card is held in the right place and is not taken away too soon. Follow the on screen instructions to hold your card to the back of the phone until you hear the confirmation sound. ^RS

Stopped working completely. (At a time when most people need to use it.) It just won't connect to the network anymore. Even tried reinstalling. Basically you're stuck with the website at this point, good luck with loading funds if you want to use them immediately. Edit: I had to uninstall again and reinstall, now it works again! Thanks Edit #2: lol, it worked ONCE. Now it's stuck on the loading screen, or the login screen. Tried reinstalling, tried clearing cache/data, nothing works.

Constantly signs you out of the app. Frequently have to reset password because of this. Overall an inconvenience compared to physical tokens or loading at a Presto machine edit: a year after this original review, the app still signs you out after about 2-3 days of inactivity. what's the point in a "remember me" option on the sign in page?

Hi Tom. Are you using your PRESTO account on multiple or different devices? That can cause automatic forced logouts. Also have you considered setting up biometrics for easier access? If you're still having trouble, please contact us at PRESTOMobileApp@metrolinx.com for further assistance. ^JW
