High-intensity interval training (HIIT), also called high-intensity intermittent exercise (HIIE) or sprint interval training (SIT), is a form of interval training, an exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods. HIIT is a form of cardiovascular exercise. Usual HIIT sessions may vary from 4–30 minutes. These short, intense workouts provide improved athletic capacity and condition as well as improved glucose metabolism.[1] Compared with other regimens, HIIT may not be as effective for treating hyperlipidemia and obesity, or improving muscle and bone mass. Some researchers also note that HIIT requires "an extremely high level of subject motivation," and question whether the general population could safely or practically tolerate the extreme nature of the exercise regimen.

Metabolic effects:
HIIT significantly lowers insulin resistance compared to continuous training or control conditions and leads to modestly decreased fasting blood glucose levels and weight loss compared to those who do not undergo a physical activity intervention.

(UPDATE 2) The app has stopped syncing with Google Fit. Nothing I have done has resolved the issue.(Update)The Bluetooth functionality seems to be broken with my phones update to Android 11(Original) I find this suits my needs well. The Google Fit integration is nice. I might like some greater control over the timer settings, but for now this has been great.

I've used this app nearly daily for nine months. I love it. I love that it's customizable, easy to name sets and exercises, runs alongside music (doesn't pause my music every time a set/exercise changes). I use it for everything from Hiit cardio and abs to timed weight training. I can't imagine my fitness routine without it.

A lot for a free app. Great value. Heart rate monitoring, sync with Spotify, customize not only your workout, but also the sounds used to notify you, set workout reminders and voiced trainer. Only cons so far are that: 1) some of the features are buried away, you can easily miss them. 2) I'd like to be able to name the individual workout rounds. All in all, a great app where you get a lot for free. Kudos for making a feature rich app and not hiding everything behind a pay wall! Will support!
