Ratings and reviews

I had this VPN when it first came out. Free. A limited choice on which countries one wanted to use. Now, no real choice. One has a choice of 5 countries, but it costs time to reach a country. Up to 20 minutes to wait for changes to the locations. Then, it states to upgrade if one wants more choices. From an android, can't upgrade. It seems one needs a computer for the upgrade services. I don't have a computer. So, I will forego the upgrade. Very disappointing. Therefore, reason for 3 stars.

All these pointless UI changes are getting old. The interface keeps getting less and less intuitive, all while becoming more and more resource-heavy. It was basically perfect about a year ago—at least, it was far superior to what it's become. Sorry to complain, but it seems like you guys are focusing your energy in all the wrong places. When it's not uncommon to encounter connection issues, it seems a bit like a slap in the face to your (paying) users. Less flash, more substance! :-(

Cannot stay consistently connected with either the mobile app or my desktop version. In fact, I had a long email support thread trying to debug why I lose access to domain resources (desktop files) when my Proton VPN had been on overnight. They couldn't find the problem. My phone app isn't much better. I have to constantly stop and restart it to get connections. Will be suspending my license and will go another direction. Gets 2 stars because it does actually work sometimes.
