The app will not even allow me access to my account. Just gives an error message telling me to contact customer service. I did so, they said there's no problem on my account, but they would "look into it and call me back". Of course they didn't. I've rebooted my phone, changed data provider, but this app left me in an untenable position where I couldn't make a payment even after trying for hours. Very disappointing, ABSA really went down after changing from Barclays. Time to consider a new bank.

I regret using the bank... firstly, there are too many deductions for an Ignition (student/youth) account, what they advertise is different from what they do. As students we are trying to save & yet they keep on deducting unnecessary amounts! secondly, i cannot even view my bank statements on the app! lastly, it doesn't even have option for sms charge off, as they advertise.. This is all frustrating!!!

absa nfc payment does payment okay. but does not ask for authentication or show card used. only black screen opens when nfc payment initiated.
