This is an update, all bugs were fixed with the latest update. The new calling feature works great. Thanks Amazon for the quick fix! I am an avid amazon user I love my echo and my dot. However this app is now stuck on the add contacts page. I have no way to add Contacts, no button and now stuck on page! I have a LG G 5 please fix!
I had originally given them 5 stars but I'm reducing that to 4 because there seems to be no landscape mode. I use this almost exclusively on a tablet. Beyond this I wish it had 2 default setting for the volume. Most times, I enjoy listening to quiet music, so I turn turn the volume low. But this voume is not loud enough for when I listen to the news, for instance. I find myself having to change the volume frequently.
I was a big fan of the app until the upgrade to add making and receiving phonecalls. The app automatically updated and now requires that I enable this feature and provide my contacts. I can't access the menu for any of the app's other features without doing this. I called Amazon and was told there is no way around this. For those who don't mind this invasion of privacy, make it a menu choice that people can enable if they wish. Please don't make it a requirement for using the app.
Worked fine till the update. I tried it on OnePlus2, LineageOS and RR OS, the app keeps crashing when it tries to access conversations, even if you deny it access to contacts. Worked fine on stock OxygenOS 3.5.8 though. It also works fine on an Amazon Fire Phone running LineageOS, but that phone does not have a sim card, so it does not try to access the communication module of the app.
After the new update the wifi on my Galaxy Tab S constantly cycles off then back on every few seconds. I had to uninstall the app and restart my tablet to fix the problem. Until this gets fixed this app is unusable. UPDATE: It appears that the app was updated and the option for calling has been removed for my tablet. Since I primarily use my tablet around the house it would be nice if that was available.
Just purchased my second Echo. With the new update to the Alexa app, I cannot complete setup. The app won't allow me to set up Wi-Fi, and it crashes when I tap the Continue button on the setup screen. Also, now my first Echo won't stop flashing green even though I have checked (and re-checked) my messages. Very frustrating.
