4.35% AER* INTEREST FOR YOU

With a Kroo current account, you’ll earn *4.35% AER/4.27% Gross (variable) interest on your current account balance up to £85,000. And it’s paid into your account monthly.

AER means annual equivalent rate. It shows you the yearly rate if we paid interest on top of interest. Gross interest is the contractual rate of interest.

KROO PERSONAL LOANS

Kroo loans are now available through the app. Applications for a loan are by invitation only for Kroo current account holders.

The loan repayment periods are from 12 to 60 months, with a Maximum Annual Percentage Rate (APR) of 23.6%

A representative example is £5,000.00 over 5 years, with APR (fixed) of 8.2%. This would have 60 monthly repayments of £101.16. The total repayment would be £6,069.60, and the cost of credit would be £1,069.60

Ratings and reviews

Logging in mostly takes ages. Often quitting the app and starting again sorts it out. Transactions are notified within seconds of them happening via android app notifications. However it may take an hour to show up in the app home page itself. Either there is a back end performance issue, or the app has some issue with closing/opening connections, or maybe it's not caching well, is my guess.I've reported this to support (waiting for a response).Only other issue is lack of direct debit switching.

Not as slick an app as Starling & missing features compared to. Does the basics but still feels embryonic. No direct debit switching service. Could you add spaces. One selling point Kroo uses is giving money to friends, also requests access to your contacts. Though most of my money goes on bills. I adore the pastel colour scheme of the app.

Didn't bother to open an account in the end as couldn't get beyond the email & password screen. Tried resetting my password & reinstalling the app, but whenever I enter my email address & password it just jumps back to the same log in screen again and again, so can never get to application page. What a waste of an app. Don't bother with this bank.
