Why players choose Classic Spades
If you want a clean, focused Spades experience without online matchmaking, this is the perfect way to practise bidding, nil strategy, and partnership play at your own pace.

How Spades works (quick overview)
Four players play in partnerships. Each player bids the number of tricks they expect to win. Follow suit if possible; otherwise play any card, including trump (spades). Spades can’t be led until they’ve been “broken.”
Scores are based on bids made versus tricks taken, with optional bonuses and penalties (nil and bag rules).

So far, I love this game... although my "partner" tends to over bid sometimes and apparently has not read the info about how your computer partner should act! But I am not only enjoying it, but my game has gotten better. I'm not sure I'm ready to move up yet, but I'll try soon. I don't find the ads to be intrusive at all. My only problem is that the cards are so close together as are the numbers for bidding, that they is a lot of room for errors and no way to info it. I meant to bid 1 & hit 7!

EDIT: Had to reduce my rating because of ads. The game is still fun and decently balanced for a card game app but the ad that I have been getting is unacceptable. It's for some word game and it automatically installs at a touch. I have uninstalled it twice now. Definitely the best app I have found so far. Ads are limited and are relatively unobnoxious. Play is smooth and looks good.

The "AI" is weak at best. Partner covering a nil throws out lower cards to lead when I have passed higher cards in that suit. Opponents will many times give up Kings as martyrs when they have Jacks to draw out the Ace on a lead. Too many other dumb moves to mention. I've been playing spades over 50 years & actually came up with some of the newer plays/rules that are now in the game. I'm not a programmer, so I don't know how hard it is to program the AI, but I am an expert at the game.

- Four-color deck: clearer suits at a glance with four suit colors
- Mobile cards on all devices: thinner cards with larger numbers
- New card faces: fresh designs with improved contrast
- AutoPlay: plays a card for you when there's only one legal move (and on the final trick)
