Build a Windows 98 PC on Android and keep each game or app in its own reusable configuration. Retro-X86 combines the 86Box emulation core with a touch-first launcher for creating period PCs, mounting legally owned software and changing removable media without digging through desktop menus.

BUILD YOUR WINDOWS 98 BASE
A guided setup creates a blank virtual hard disk, mounts your own Windows 98 installation disc and walks you through period hardware and driver preparation. Finished Windows bases stay protected: new configurations use separate change layers instead of duplicating or altering the clean installation.

CHOOSE PERIOD HARDWARE
Select a Voodoo 3 PC, an S3 desktop card with Voodoo 2 acceleration, or compatibility-focused S3 hardware. Configure processor, memory, sound, networking, floppy drives and multiple CD-ROM drives for the software you want to run.

MADE FOR AN ANDROID SCREEN
Large, focused setup pages replace long desktop configuration windows. Browse CDs, floppy images, ZIP files and mounted folders with search and A-Z filters. Change media, adjust emulation speed, open the keyboard or return to the launcher while a PC is running. Xbox-style, Bluetooth and USB controllers are supported.

WHAT YOU NEED
Retro-X86 does not include Microsoft Windows, commercial games or their licences. You must provide your own legally obtained Windows 98 installation media, software and any proprietary drivers that are not supplied by the app. Performance and graphics compatibility vary by Android device and guest software.

Retro-X86 is an independent Android adaptation and is not an official 86Box release. Full credit for the emulation core, machine and device models, firmware integration and PC compatibility belongs to the 86Box project and its contributors. The Direct3D guest stack also incorporates components from qemu-3dfx and Wine9x under their respective licences.
