Update from a platinum traveller: Expedia messed up a hotel reservation, failed to investigate properly, and finally only offered a 'gesture' on an 'exceptional basis'. Not a reliable platform, zero customer service. After nearly a decade of use, I have ended all use of Expedia - and that's how they treat their best regular customers! (By the way, the app is a disaster)

Canadian here. After using the app for 6 years without issue, I recently went to book a hotel and the app had changed my location to USA for some reason. Rather than showing the currency as USD, it simply showed a $ sign and I mistakenly assumed that my app was still in CAD, like it had been for 6 years prior. Instead, I booked a hotel for a good rate and was pleased. Was very displeased to find the increased rate when I showed up at hotel. I'm out.

Customer service is awful. Accommodations and flights booked separately with no communication between the two. I was left stranded and was told I would be charged $1200 for an additional night at my resort. When I spoke to the resort directly it was $280 for the night. Terrible experience with customer service, being hung up on multiple times after I was stranded at the airport for a flight happening the next day. I wish I could rank them a zero. Never using Expedia again, bunch of crooks.
