I'm trying to configure a schedule to turn on my LED bulb automatically at 8am. The app (v4.1.06) tells me this requires a firmware update of the LED bulb (currently on firmware 2.1). However the button to update the firmware is greyed out. Fail. Basic bug makes the app unusable for me.
App doesn't work and will never detect my bulbs however it does work for iPhones. Looked online for solutions and seems like the company hasn't acknowledged the problem for months. Wouldn't recommend buying the bulbs either they are too bright and you can't adjust them since the app doesn't work. Buy hue bulbs because those are nicer and can change color. Update : still not compatible on Android 8.1
WHAT THE HELL! This all worked fine till you idiots updated the app, now it won't even let me reinstall any of my bulbs! And don't can response me for my account info because can't get that to work either Update 3/12/18 New update has rendered all the bulbs useless. Will not connect to Bluetooth even after I factory reset the bulb. Your app is trash and so is the reset process. Your app devs must never have had programming training. GE use to be a respectable product provider now you just a joke.
It keeps disconnecting from the app every few weeks, and now it won't even connect. It keeps saying no bulbs found. I reset the bulbs and try to connect to the app and nothing. I did this procedure about 5 times and even installed the app an reinstalled it, still nothing. Used with different devices, still nothing. It was awesome the whole month that worked. Update (response to the GE reply): still doesn't work, even after the app update.
Last update fixed the crashing from the previous broken one thank you! so the bulbs function again. Still can't update the bulbs but as this is Bluetooth and not a WiFi device I don't think I have to worry about IoT security. Please just do a better job at Software Testing in the future but I'm glad I can use my bulbs again, they have been great outside of that horrible app hickup
Is the developer going to push an update anytime soon? I just bought these bulbs and i installed the app but it keeps crashing when i try to find the bulbs.. After the recent update the app no longer crashes when looking for the bulbs but it still doesn't find the bulbs. It's an improvement but the all still isn't doing what is supposed to. Please fix
