I can't believe that this application is developed by Google. Even a person who have very less knowledge, he know if he got a unknown device he will have to formate it then should use it. Even to clear pattern/security lock he have to do a factory reset. Once this is done what is the benifit of this application. My suggestion is kindly link device MAC address with current number used in device and when ever a new sim card is inserted in device all information should be updated automatically in this application. I know it is possible that MAC address also can be changed but still it will good up to a level.
I can't, in good conscience give this app a good review until they enable remote GPS enabling. I don't want to have my location services constantly running, as it is a huge battery drainer. This should be able to also override a thief's ability to turn off location services.
I want to tell the developers that please change the location detection without using location settings since any phone if want to detect won't always be opening location settings. Just try to replace with getting location by SIM uniqueness like IMEI no. or something else. Because i got stuck in a problem when phone was switched off. Is the thief that stupid to keep the GPS locator on? He will instantly perform factory settings. This app should allow real owner to turn on gps remotely on his lost phone and take some snaps using front camera secretly. This app should have capacity to lock the stolen phone remotely through EMI since thief can't change it. Real owner will activate his gmail account with phone EMI once. Once the thief goes online, phone asks for master pin or password. Boom
An interesting app, to be sure, but some other things would be good to add: Bluetooth device tracking! (See plantronics hub for more info) Better description! (Do I need to sign in to enable this service from my laptop? I don't think so, but the app didn't explain this.)
Poor update. Not nearly as consistent as the prior version. I like the new interface, but frequently have problems getting this app to load my device, let alone locate them. Lostandroid works consistently to find the devices...use it after a failure on this app. C'mon google, what is up with this update? The old version was more successful than this update!
