A cheap knock-off, useful for the very basic of data entry and minimal Functions. If you're used to the useful features of Excel you will be very disappointed with this "free" version. Sheets wanting to save every millisecond causes more usability issues than it protects against loss, in functionality of the software. UPDATE 2025 April: Not all changes made in app translated to PC access (even after claiming to have saved and synched). Stars lowered from 2 to 1.

The app works efficiently until I try to share a sheet with someone who doesn't have a Google account. Then, even when they're listed as an editor, they're restricted from copying and pasting without any reason why. A search of the forums doesn't yield any potential cause. Edit: The last update rendered this question kind of moot, as they just added the ability to convert to .xlsx and I can share that way, but I'm curious to know the answer to the above question.

I left a complaint about this over a year ago now, but the issue with editing functionality disappearing is still around. I was told to go to the Google help forums and I did, I did as they suggested, and NOTHING CHANGED. I have to reinstall sheets almost every time I need to edit something or else I am locked into view only. This doesn't happen with any other apps in the Google suite, just sheets. I've been having this issue since 2022, and looking at reviews I am far from the only one.
