When your TV isn’t being used, Google TV Ambient Mode can transform the blank screen into a series of photos to brighten your space. Display your own personal photos or choose ones from Getty Images, NASA, Google Earth, Google Arts & Culture, and more.

Generally a really great screensaver option. However, it's more than disappointing you can only use your own photos by uploading them to Google Drive. Other sources for private pictures, like e.g. local storage or other cloud drives, are not supported.

I can't use the ambient mode after the latest update it's broken fix it.earlier I was able to use my Google photos with Ambience mode and used to cast my photos in the TV but now I am unable to do it.

Edit: looks like there's been an update and suddenly everything works again. Well done Google Used to work with multiple images plus forecast. Now nope. Stuck on one image unless you clear data and force stop. Can't even access the settings anymore. Works on newer Chromecast devices so it might be a chip issue. Doubt it will get fixed as the newer shiny hotness streamer has been issued
