About this app

Gym Geek - Smart Calorie Tracking. For weight loss, maintenance or weight gain.

1) Set up your weight plan

Enter your age, gender, height and current weight to start your weight plan. Then choose how quickly you want to lose or gain weight, from 0.5 lb per week to 2 lb per week.

2) Phase in

If you choose to phase in while losing weight, you'll start by maintaining your current weight. Over the phase in period, your calorie goal will gradually decrease to your target rate of weight loss.

Phase in over 1 or 2 weeks for the best results. Although you won't see results on day 1, you're more likely to stick to the plan.

Phasing in avoids sudden changes to your diet and dampens your feelings of hunger.

3) Track your calories

Track your calories by scanning barcodes, searching our 3.8 million item food database or using the Quick Track tool.

The app automatically switches between Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

4) Smart Calorie Adjustments

Don't worry about being 100% accurate. Gym Geek uses Smart Calorie Adjustments to update your calorie goal as you lose or gain weight.

Track your weight often (at least weekly) for the best results.

Not bad for what it does; the continual adjustments are great when your weight loss isn't linear. But the lack of connectivity to Health Connect is a minus, as is the lack of nutrition tracking (you can only track kcal/protein/fat/carbs. Subscription gets you what other apps give you for free. I doubt I will stick with this even though the adjustments excited me.

that app is pretty good, but I very much dislike that you cannot quickly add a custom meal with macros like you can in other popular apps. You only have the option to add bulk calories or to take the time to create a custom recipe. If there was an ability to add a quick meal with macros on the fly this app would be at 5 stars

Hi Dorian, Thank you for your feedback. I'm pleased to say that Meal Tracking is now available in the latest version of the Gym Geek app. If you download the latest version, you can create and track meals (with calories and macros) from the 'Saved items' tab. Please reach out if you have any additional feedback :)
