I like this, but it has some serious flaws. Firstly, it constantly crashes on Android Auto, which is not fun when I'm driving and need directions. Secondly, the search functionality is pretty bad. Unless you know exactly what you are looking for, it's impossible to find anything new. Sometimes, the search bar just doesn't work , but the biggest problem is not being able to easily filter results. I loved Google Maps' ability to filter restaurants and atteactions in my area.

Thanks for the feedback, Gary. We are aware of an issue with the search function that has since been corrected, however, if you experience further issues, or have some points of interest to add, please email us at appsupport@here.com. We are working on the search functionality overall and hope to introduce improvements in the coming months!

The non-Android Auto experience is great with the ability to add stops, see upcoming road signs, and the UI is great. Android Auto has better performance with updates. Collections and shortcuts are now more responsive than before. It does struggle with causing a lot of memory usage in Android Auto mode, heating my phone up and chewing through battery. I wish you could add stops in Android Auto, see road signs and stop lights on the map, and see the final address as you near your destination.

If you're looking for a Google Maps alternative, this is the Google Maps alternative. This was one of the only European alternatives that I found that actually allow you to use online mode without having to download any maps at all. Which is amazing because all the other alternatives I found use up a lot of storage because if I want to download the United States map, it's 20 GB from OpenStreetMaps. With this, I don't have to download anything. I just install the app and use it.
