The MVV-App is the cost-free and ad-free app for timetable information and public transport tickets in the entire Munich transport network (Münchner VerkehrsVerbund).
Whether you use a regional train, suburban train (S-Bahn), underground (U-Bahn), streetcar (Tram), bus, or on-demancd services (RufTaxi, FLEX or FLEXlinie) - with the app you will always find the fastest connection to your destination in Munich and the districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Dachau, Ebersberg, Erding, Freising, Fürstenfeldbruck, Landsberg a.L., Miesbach, Munich, Rosenheim, Starnberg, Weilheim-Schongau and in the city of Rosenheim.
Thanks to real-time information (forecasts), you are always well informed. You can buy the right ticket directly via smartphone, with MVVswipe conveniently via check-in and check-out, without having to know our tariff details.

Ratings and reviews

You can go to a kiosk and buy tickets faster. Downloaded the app before traveling overseas and couldn't get any of my credit cards to set up. Traveled with a friend who got hers to work with Apple pay. We had 4 in our group and tried to buy 4 tickets via the app. It wanted to set up each additional passenger with a name and info. We just bought at the kiosk and we're on our way faster.

Updated to 3 stars: It took many attempts to be able to add a credit card as a payment method. I'd add the credit card details, submit, but it wouldn't go through. I tried visa and american express. I cleared cache and storage and also uninstalled and reinstalled the app. When my husband tried adding payment method on his phone, the same thing happened. I waited the next day to try it again and then eventually, the app on my phone accepted american express. I still have no idea what went wrong.

The recent upgrade to the options settings made things worse. I often change options to disable a method of transport in order to force the app to display all times for my preferred routes instead of randomly omitting some. I used to be able to do that in 3 clicks (open options, change settings, close options) plus 3 more to change them back, but now it takes 5 clicks plus 5. Of course the real improvement here would be better ways to choose preferred routes.
