The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, has launched the 'Global Passport Seva V2.0' mobile application. This app is designed to provide a comprehensive range of passport services to the Indian diaspora applying for Passport services through Indian Missions (Embassies/High Commissions) or Posts (Consulate Generals) abroad.

The GPSP 2.0 app offers several services to smartphone users, including application for Ordinary Passports (Fresh/Reissue), Emergency Certificates and Surrender of Indian Passports.

Additionally, users can track the status of their applications, locate Indian Missions or Consulates abroad, and access general information related to obtaining a passport or applying for passport-related services.

Ratings and reviews

The app is great in tracking. However, the user login is unstable. The characters in the username repeat automatically while typing, which is annoying. Also, the system locks my account and asks to change the password frequently (even though there were no unsuccessful attempts). Overall, the system is not robust. Note: This behavior is observed on an android phone.

The application has a serious issue when saving files in PDF format. The saved PDF does not appear correctly, and images or content are not displayed as expected. Additionally, the document does not save completely — only one page is visible instead of the full file. This makes it difficult to use the application for proper document handling. The developers should fix the PDF export feature to ensure all pages and content are saved and displayed correctly.

Can never talk to its server. It has been about 2 weeks since I installed the app, but not once have I been able to login. I always see this message on top of the app: "Sorry, can't talk to our servers right now".
