*Chime SpotMe is an optional, no fee service that requires a single deposit of $200 or more in qualifying direct deposits to the Chime Checking Account each month. All qualifying members will be allowed to overdraw their account up to $20 on debit card purchases and cash withdrawals initially, but may be later eligible for a higher limit of up to $200 or more based on member's Chime Account history, direct deposit frequency and amount, spending activity and other risk-based factors. Your limit will be displayed to you within the Chime mobile app. You will receive notice of any changes to your limit. Your limit may change at any time, at Chime's discretion. Although there are no overdraft fees, there may be out-of-network or third party fees associated with ATM transactions. SpotMe won't cover non-debit card transactions, including ACH transfers, Pay Anyone transfers, or Chime Checkbook transactions. See Terms and Conditions.

‡Out-of-network ATM withdrawal fees may apply except at MoneyPass ATMs in a 7-Eleven, or any Allpoint or Visa Plus Alliance ATM.

^Early access to direct deposit funds depends on the timing of the submission of the payment file from the payer. We generally make these funds available on the day the payment file is received, which may be up to 2 days earlier than the scheduled payment date.

¹To be eligible to apply for Credit Builder, you need to have received a qualifying direct deposit of $200 or more to your Checking Account within 365 days of your Credit Builder application. See for details on qualifying direct deposit.

Surprised my 1st thought is that it's aesthetically pleasing when it's a banking app. It's even caught the eye of merchants. Very easy to use & it gives me the sense that they are there to really help me succeed. Using for purpose of diversification & I'm limited- I can't drive because of seizures, so no going to the bank. So Chime is perfect. Everything is delivered on or before the set delivery date. Direct deposit came two days early as well as my secured credit card. I'd highly recommend!

Easy-to-use with prompt service. Everything works as it should. I haven't personally ran into any issues on my own account. Spot me is a nice feature, however the application could be improved by giving the consumer the opportunity to give a tip of any ammount rather than the 3 pre-made offers. I was going to round up what I owed but was unable to do so and it only offered percentage based tips. In app transfers are instant but can take 48 hours with certain banks for some reason.

I have used Chime for about 3 years now, and I love it. However, for the last few months, anytime I try to turn off/on my card, and anytime I try to transfer money from one account to the other, the app just freezes up. Then, I have to force-stop the app via my settings and start all over again - very annoying.

And our engineers spent the season wiping out all the bugs and glitches. So when you update the app, it’s like you’re running the dishwasher on your phone. Metaphorically, of course.
