Ouch - new 2.0 removed a great feature. The older 1.2.9 version of this application had quick access link to device settings from the device acreen. This way if I saw a device using unusual amount of bandwidth, I could ban it right from the monitor screen. This is no longer possible. You now have to go completely out of the monitor, go to the alphabetized list of devices, scroll down find your device again, clock on settings, and then you can do this. It is a lot of extra steps... :-(

The router has some nice features and good coverage but the app, the faux-PC interface when accessing from a browser, and the incredibly long reboot times of the router really suck. App is only good for simple operations and why does the app need my location when I'm physically connected to the AP? Can't change DNS servers via the app and the browser log in will tell you you have the wrong password immediately after setting it up / resetting it.

Great router, lousy app. I've used a lot of routers with parental controls over the years. Some were missing important features, others wouldn't work half the time. Synology router is a dream in that it's a powerful router with every parental control feature I need. But the app is half baked. To make matters worse, there's a Web portal one can use to setup & change parental control settings that's pretty good but this app is missing features or works differently compared to the portal. Why?!?!
