Great router, lousy app. I've used a lot of routers with parental controls over the years. Some were missing important features, others wouldn't work half the time. Synology router is a dream in that it's a powerful router with every parental control feature I need. But the app is half baked. To make matters worse, there's a Web portal one can use to setup & change parental control settings that's pretty good but this app is missing features or works differently compared to the portal. Why?!?!

Unlike with the web interface, the app is sorely lacking in features and capabilities. For example, try configuring DHCP settings or try changing the DNS settings. These settings are nowhere to be found in the App that I could locate. The app is good for looking to see what devices are connected to the router and for an overview of internet connectivity. A good app should allow one to edit virtually any of the router's settings that you can do via the web portal. This app is extremely lacking.

the Safe Access section is awful. I came from a Google Nest wifi, and while that system had it's own problem, I was able to set blocked time from 7pm - 5am. This acts like I can't set a reward time past midnight or anything. It is brutal. it would also be nice to be able to set up multiple schedules for the same devices. right now, for me, this whole safe access section is useless. I really want to like this, but it is not working as it should, in my opinion.
