it's fairly easy to use. I like that it lets me know when someone joins the network. it seems like there's a fairly low limit of devices you can set in kids mode. i also I had an issue where I had to reset the device because the app eventually logged me out and I forgot the pw to get back in. I wish that process was smoother.I had to log in on a laptop because the app wouldn't let me do it, and the process want clear, quick or very easy.

Great router, lousy app. I've used a lot of routers with parental controls over the years. Some were missing important features, others wouldn't work half the time. Synology router is a dream in that it's a powerful router with every parental control feature I need. But the app is half baked. To make matters worse, there's a Web portal one can use to setup & change parental control settings that's pretty good but this app is missing features or works differently compared to the portal. Why?!?!

Unlike with the web interface, the app is sorely lacking in features and capabilities. For example, try configuring DHCP settings or try changing the DNS settings. These settings are nowhere to be found in the App that I could locate. The app is good for looking to see what devices are connected to the router and for an overview of internet connectivity. A good app should allow one to edit virtually any of the router's settings that you can do via the web portal. This app is extremely lacking.
