App is marginally useful. It just became useless. For some unknown reason, tp-link has decided to Make spaces embedded in a password illegal. That means you can no longer save changes in the application unless you remove embedded spaces. Of course that means all of your devices that depend on your current password will need to be reprogrammed. What a mess! In addition, tp-link has determined that you do not need to update your firmware for your router, making it a big security risk.

App is reasonably good at managing a Deco mesh network. 2 major outages: (1) whenever you open it, it shows old cached status for several seconds before updating with correct current info. Incredibly frustrating for troubleshooting, basically starts every single troubleshooting session on the wrong foot. Old cached status is less than useless. Just make me wait until current info has been loaded! (2) should have graphs of individual router/client uptime, backhaul/client available/used bandwidth.

I have had a deco mesh system for 1 year now and this app has always been reliable and easy to use. Initially it did not have as many advanced features for someone like me who likes to micromanage their network, however the developers have updated it regularly adding new features like device isolation and scheduled reboots. The only thing I'm still not a fan of is requiring a cloud account to log in, but this is common nowadays.
