The Nintendo Switch Online app enhances your online gameplay experience on your Nintendo Switch™ system. With this app, you can access game-specific services, view your online friends, and use voice chat during online play—all of which allow you to get even more out of online play.

◆ View your online friends
You can see which of your friends are online from your smartphone—and which games they're playing. You can even send friend requests right from the app!

Note: Some friend features, like adding friends, can only be accessed from a Nintendo Switch system.

◆ Use voice chat during online play
From this app, you can join in on voice chat while playing supported software online. By using the app, your voice-chat status will be automatically synced with the game status—and in games that support team battles, like Splatoon 3, you can choose to chat with just the players who are on your team.

I use this almost everyday, it's really helpful if I'm playing Splatoon. I don't use any other games, nor have friends on them. But If I'm bored, I'll join a private match and vc with my friends! It's a great way to communicate with your teammates. Ex: you get killed and you wanna tell them to avoid that area. Which is super helpful. Vc also works for animal crossing, super smash bros, etc. Though, I kind of wish there was a chat box feature! But I do suggest getting if you wanna vc!!

Animal crossing content STILL isn't working. If I reinstall the app it works briefly, then breaks again. Sits at the spinning dots loading screen forever. Y old Samsung S8 seems to work fine but I'm not booting an old phone everytime I want to use this app. DO BETTER!

Even though I don't have a Switch, I'm waiting for them to release an upgraded Switch 2 or Switch Pro first. I used to love Nintendo but I have not played anything or bought any systems from them in ages. Have heard bad things about this app & voice chat should be included on the Switch itself.
