I love it. I'm not a person that goes out a lot so I use this app to help me choose what I want to do. Sometimes I use it just to plan things to do in the future, and the reviews help a lot. I just wish the dollar system actually showed the actual price range. Instead of the dollar signs "$$" just put "$10-30". It'll help a lot of people but that's just my opinion.
This app has shown me so many cool places i depend on it like everytime i go out to eat! This app has saved me in the clutch time and time again. Plus it good to be able to let others know when you have had a bad experience. Love it!
Obviously Yelp has become a Classic must have App for your Home Screen using any Smart Phone OS. It's an Excellent App BUT there could always be improvements. One of the things I've noticed recently (last 6-12 months) is a bigger and bigger discrepancy between Yelp results and Google search results. In my humble opinion, that should never be the case. Yelp should even have some options that Google search may not provide. Hopefully, that won't continue to be the case because you feel forced to use both which isn't convenient and is counterproductive. Bravo, so far Yelp but PLEASE don't ever get complacent and quit improving on your database and wide variety of search results.
Made me install 70MB on mobile to view pictures, horrible. Nothing worth the install vs. the website. UNINSTALLED (Update: use request full site in Chrome to get around it)
I've watched the Yelp App get a little better every year. I have used it sporadically since 2012 and finally feel like it's come far enough to rate it the 2 stars. The limitations of the app that I've experienced are a limitation of the data Yelp has available to assist people finding what they are looking for. I once rated the app 5 stars until I discovered the way the company does business. Marking a business as CLOSED instead MOVED or simply redirecting the web page to the proper address of a company that has moved its location is the ethical & responsible thing to do. Yelp! Doesn't do that. I've heard reports all around the country about how badly Yelp damages their small business reputation and makes it difficult to survive in the corporate dominant market of 2017. One bad review on Yelp can make or break a business. There are no stop gaps in place for small business to contest a bad review with unreasonable customers without starting a public flame war on the Yelp business page that businesses never even agreed to participate in.
I hate that Yelp forces you to use their app on the phone instead of being able to access through the browser. So I'll do what I have to do and then uninstall.
We removed precisely 37 bugs (and one intrepid spider, which we’re pretty sure isn’t technically a bug) from this version of the Yelp app.
