We use Yelp extensively - mostly for food - when trying decide what sounds good for dinner AND when traveling to determine what we shouldn't miss. We have discovered so many great places thanks to Yelp - and it's great to be able to share those greats w/ others. The recommendations for local events are improving as well. Yelp adds joy most often and saves us from mediocrity!
I started using this app because I moved and needed to find a new nail salon that was 4 years ago. Fast forward to today and I have moved again. I love that they're highlighting more local and family owned businesses. I just wish there were more good places around my house it seems Tropicana and Pecos have no 5 star places.
With yelp being the top results in google searches, there's no choice but to install the app if you want to view a review or picture on web browser. Absolutely absurd. Because they FORCE you to install the app. A person is not allowed to view the mobile site from a mobile browser. Squeezing money from app installs smh. They can let us view the mobile site but no, force app install. They're worse than ARCO gas charging you .35¢ for every debit transaction.
Great app! The content is great--real people tell you about their real experiences with local business. The search functions are so helpful. I can see who is open right now, and contact them right through the app. I use it daily and never had any crashes or problems.
I travel all the time, and temp is my go to to find restaurants. Lately, they've you're the app so that, after selecting an entry, you gave to pause before you can see the information on that restaurant (or whatever). Presumably, they make you do this so that you'll spend more time on their advertisements, but it's really inconvenient, especially if you're browsing several places. Besides, if I do a search for Vietnamese food, in not interested in the Long John Silvers that they're pushing at me.
Not sure what to say for this app. Downloaded it to search for one thing and one thing only - Chinese or Indian buffet. Annoyingly it gives more results that exclude the word buffet than include it, let alone if it's a Chinese or Indian. Surprisingly Zomato was much better.
What do we hate? Bugs. What have we eradicated with extreme prejudice since the last update? Bugs! What are we probably going to find more of between now and the next update? Yeah, bugs. Pobody’s nerfect.
