About this app

MitID is your digital ID. You use it when you want to log in, sign digitally and approve actions in various self-service solutions. If you need to approve on your mobile or tablet, you do it with a single swipe in the app. To authenticate on your computer, scan a QR code.

Activate your MitID
You can activate your MitID in your app by scanning your passport/ID card or with an activation code from Borgerservice. If you have a new mobile, you can copy your MitID from your old app.

In the app you can also...
View or change your user ID, change the mobile number you use for MitID, block or reactivate MitID, approve with a button instead of a swipe, or choose the app in multiple languages.

Have a spare MitID
Having an extra MitID is a good idea. If you happen to lose your mobile with the app on it, you can still use MitID.
Read here how to do it: MitID.dk/reserve

More information
You can get MitID from the age of 13.

MitID has been developed by The Agency for Digital Government and Finance Denmark – on behalf of the public and financial sectors.

Unreliable at best. Registering for MitID can crash randomly at any step. Clearing cache and stored data helps to arrive to face verification without crashing. But then face verification fails most of the time. Spent 5h of continuously repeating the same process again and again to get it to work. Unacceptable. It feels like amateur work and this makes me fear for my stored personal data. I suggest ordering the physical code device to never have to go through this like I had to.

some steps are required to be done multiple times without explanation, check marks appear regardless of the correctness of the procedure, it cannot recognise my face comparing it with ID's, terrible drop down to choose the date, should already let you choose if you want to input manually (for example if you don't have an ID with enough safety level), poor feedback when scanning chip, tells you to close and reopen if error persist, but nothing changes whatsoever

I had an issue confirming with my fingerprint. I reached out to support one month ago and they just said it is a known bug but yet not resolved!!! (update) after nearly a year from when I reported this (known) bug they have not yet fixed this issue! more importantly it is almost 7 months that they have not released any updates!! isn't that a security concern???!!

What’s new

With the new release of the MitID app, it is now possible to block and reactivate your MitID directly in the app. You can also choose to approve with a button instead of a swipe, and you now have the option to use the app in Greenlandic. Behind the scenes, work has been done on small details, improvements and fixes that you may not necessarily notice.
