The FarmerLink app is designed to connect farmers with the value chain, providing tools to register farmers, plots, and harvests, and ensuring compliance with social, environmental, and legal standards. A key feature of FarmerLink is its ability to monitor deforestation and reforestation, ensuring compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and facilitating product traceability and reporting for the EU Traces portal.
The app supports EUDR compliance through several steps:
1. Registration
Farmers and plot polygons are registered offline, creating a database of uniquely identifiable farmers and their plots.
Data is organized into a customized group structure with configured user access for security and accessibility.
2. Survey
A customized EUDR compliance survey is integrated, covering social and environmental standards and legality checks.
Farmers and plots receive a performance score to indicate their compliance levels.
3. Validation
Validates plot polygons and deforestation status since January 1, 2021, using geospatial data aligned with EUDR frameworks.
Checks if plots are within protected areas.
Ensures traceability of exported products down to the plot level.
Performs a detailed Deforestation Risk Analysis to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
4. Compliance
Generates a Due Diligence Statement based on verified compliance of farmers, plots, and product traceability.
Creates a geoJSON file of the plots for submission to the EU TRACES portal, ensuring compliance with EUDR import requirements.
FarmerLink empowers farmers by helping them register and manage their data efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and connecting them with the broader supply chain. The app’s comprehensive features support sustainable and legal agricultural practices, providing transparency and accountability in the supply chain.
