I have no problems with the service itself, the app does its job. I use it for paying groceries as well as MTR travel. I am giving it 4 stars as the app is constantly running in the background draining my battery. I have to forcefully restrict battery usage with the tradeoff of not receiving notifications instantly. My phone is a Galaxy S22 Ultra with all the latest Android and Google Play Services updates installed. Also note that ANT bank also suffers the same problem.

AlipayHK has no security when opening app. If my phone is ever lost or stolen, anyone can open and see private data and even make payments, even with biometric payment active. AlipayHK is essentially a finance and banking app without any security. I cannot open my other banking apps without a password or biometric authentification, as it should be. But AlipayHK just opens fully without any security. AlipayHK needs biometrics to open the app added asap. It's shocking the app has zero security.

Works fine everywhere in Hong Kong. Very hit and miss in Shenzhen because some stores or systems don't seem to like "foreign" aka Hong Kong credit cards. The metro for example wouldn't let me buy any tickets for my family on the ticket machines or MTR card machines. The machines don't take 100 Yuan notes either so have to ask around for people to swap smaller notes with me. Really such a hassle traveling to China and trying to pay for things and Alipay isn't doing much to help.
