today there was an "app error" resulting in my payment not going through. The app said payment confirmed, etc, and there was no issue with my card. later I found out that the driver was never paid. He had to go to my hotel and leave a note for me so I could pay him. After checking my bank records and finding out there was no transaction for the ride, I felt horrible! I "paid on the fly" through the app by entering the taxi code, and it was accepted. Very serious issue for both parties.

The app lets you enter a non-Italian phone number and claims it sent a code—but it never arrives, because it only works with Italian numbers. why allow users to enter international numbers? Why not just say that upfront? On top of that, the CAPTCHA is incredibly tedious and takes five minutes to complete. Overall, poor communication and a waste of time. If it’s only for local users, they should be clear about it from the start.

I've used this app for years in Rome and suffered through it not knowing other alternatives that allow you to use only the dispatch feature (i.e., does not require you to enter your CC number). ItTaxi is slow, often hangs, sometimes does not even open, and after every frequent update requires you to signin again. (And, in general, the company, RadioTaxi, never has cabs available, even by phone.) There are other app alternatives now, and I'll stop using this app so very happily.
