The Lufthansa app uses an Android Foreground Service during the sign-out process to ensure that logout operations continue and complete successfully even if the app is moved to the background or closed by the user. This security feature helps ensure that active sessions are terminated and authentication data is removed from the device.

Ratings and reviews

Absolute trash app. Most of the time I can't log in and it just hangs. Once you do finally, by some miracle, log in, it doesn't keep you logged in for very long. Constantly have to attempt to log back in just to be able to show your boarding pass. And of course it decides to do this just as you're ready to board. I fly a lot and never have never seen an airline app so difficult to use.

Absolutely no function of this app, or their website version, actually works. Everything just takes forever to load, and then has some kind of error where they eventually ask you to contact customer service. Can't even pay for an upgrade successfully, it tells me to call their customer service number. Really the worst. The app doesn't even successfully log-in to my account! Truly embarrassing state for a company this big.

They suddenly stopped being compatible with my perfectly working phone. This is the only airline app that requires Android 10, all others are perfectly fine with the earlier (Android 9 here) versions. "Planned obsoleteness". Lufthansa, you are not green! You are pushing your customers to create more e-waste by doing this. And you did this without any warning... Guess what, this might be just the last time I am flying Lufthansa. At least, when I could choose, I'd think twice before flying LH.
