About this app

With the BankID app you can identify yourself, confirm payments and sign documents.

The app meets official security requirements and can be used to:
- Log in to public services and banks
- Sign binding documents electronically
- Confirm online payments
- Verify your identity at stores, bars, and events


Instead of using the one-time password from your code device, you rather approve requests directly in the app. The BankID-app is used together with your social security number and personal password.

To get started you need to have a BankID certificate issued by a bank.

Unable to authenticate and add ID. I suddenly needed to authenticate and add my ID after using the app for a couple years. Now it constantly fails with my Oppholdstillatelse card and I'm not able to add it when I should be able to.

I had to activate BankID again for some reasons ,deleted and downloaded it,I tried to do the process with scanning my passport for identity, but got this error: I cannot proceed with this ID document because unable to verify if the identity of it's holder matches the owner of this BankID.Its really frustrating and the CS cant do anything to help at the end need to go to the bank for help. So difficult App. Please fix the system and make it much more easy to use.

Update to my earlier review where the activation was broken on my older phone even though NFC + face scan ("Verification complete") passed fine. After yesterday's App update (22nd June 2026) the activation of the BankID finally went through. Thanks for fixing it!
