About this app

We began with the simple aim of providing our customers a convenient way to monitor their utilities usage and pay their monthly bills.

To help households and customers understand the environmental impact of their daily activities, we launched My Carbon Footprint.

Next, we introduced GreenUP to encourage sustainable lifestyle choices through a rewards programme, and My Green Credits for everyone to green their electricity consumption.

Today, our app will be renamed to the SP app, reflecting our ambition to empower the future of energy and contribute to a greener future for Singapore.

We are also launching Green Goals! A new feature that tracks your individual environmental impact and contribution towards the SG Green Plan 2030.

Why remove the manual keying of numbers for meter readings? While it is good to provide another option for users to scan the meter, there are people who prefer to just key in the numbers. In all honesty, it is faster to just memorize the numbers and key in instead of trying to take a photo and making sure it fits and then having to make sure the numbers reflected are correct. Why can't you provide both options? Who came up with the idea to remove the manual option?

Hi J R, thank you for your feedback. You can still enter your meter readings manually for submission. On the page where you can scan your meter number and reading, there is an option at the bottom left ""Select Meter No."" that allows you to do so. Please email us at appsupport@spgroup.com.sg if you are unable to do so. Thank you.

The photo taking feature has extremely poor character detection capability. It will read the characters wrong for meter reading even though the photos are clear. When not successful (which is most of the time), app will ask you to take a separate photo but then highjacks the phone's flashlight. The software seems to be developed by some substandard amateur who probably copied the code from somewhere without understanding or field testing by supervisors. Such a shame.

Pointless app. Key requirement: view previous billings. Signing up requires a new account - adding to the hundreds of accounts one has to manage. Why not integrate with Singpass (for most of us who can use it)? Need to provide account number for previous requirement - tried to sign up precisely because I needed to view previous billings, which I don't have (so don't know account number) . Back to square one, can't see previous billings. Totally no consideration of the user journey.
