Had trouble with it at first but it works now. Make sure your mobile data is turned off, turn on the Wifi and connect to the dashcam, then load up the Cam Viewer app. Doing these things out of order like loading the app first or leaving data on always seems to make it play up for me. Obviously I wish the transfer speeds when downloading a video was quicker but not much you can really do about that, it's just annoying when you want to download multiple videos but that will be rare.

Tried for 4 hours to link to mobile app with no success. Went through every possible fix including reformatting memory card, downloading latest software, switching off data etc etc. Nothing has worked, so given up. This was installed by Toyota when I bought the car, so not impressed and assumed it must have been either cheap or they get a kick back. Very unhappy indeed.

To everyone having trouble connecting their dash cams to a smartphone: check if you have the latest firmware on your dash cam! Initially, I couldn't connect mine to my smartphone, but then I realized it was running old software (version 3.5), so installed the new version (6.5). It was a very easy process, the new software and instructions are on the Nextbase website. Now it works great! The app is okay but not ideal; I can only share the videos. I can't download them directly to my phone.
