Had trouble with it at first but it works now. Make sure your mobile data is turned off, turn on the Wifi and connect to the dashcam, then load up the Cam Viewer app. Doing these things out of order like loading the app first or leaving data on always seems to make it play up for me. Obviously I wish the transfer speeds when downloading a video was quicker but not much you can really do about that, it's just annoying when you want to download multiple videos but that will be rare.

To everyone having trouble connecting their dash cams to a smartphone: check if you have the latest firmware on your dash cam! Initially, I couldn't connect mine to my smartphone, but then I realized it was running old software (version 3.5), so installed the new version (6.5). It was a very easy process, the new software and instructions are on the Nextbase website. Now it works great! The app is okay but not ideal; I can only share the videos. I can't download them directly to my phone.

The main problem with the camera is the fact it comes with zero written instructions and instead pretty poor and unclear illustrations which do not clearly show how to set up and manage the camera. You are also automatically signed up to a newsletter to access your cam with no undo. However once you do get into the camera, it's super easy. It's got an simple editor, you can download the videos, good space, always recording, doesn't unstick from the windshield even through a heatwave.
