It stopped working correctly. All day it has not shown anything but a gray background. It's like there is nothing there. I can't use the clean up tool because it freezes and I can't permanently delete stuff because it shows nothing Edit: Issue was Randomly resolved. Things started showing up normally. Will keep watch on it and change my review once I am certain that the problem is truly resolved. Thank You.

I've had this bug for quite some time now where files is just so slow and that too on a pixel phone (works fine when going through the internal storage option, going through categories is the issue). I saw a reddit post that this issue has been around for a few months now. It's just odd that Google still doesn't have a fix for this yet. I've sent a feedback from the app, so hoping Google can replicate this issue and find the root cause and fix it.

Trying to listen to music through Google files is an awful experience. It randomly stops whenever it plays in the background. And when you aren't leaving it in the background, it'll stop when you eventually leave the app open! And sometimes when you have a lot of audio in one folder, the app crashes when you try to rename a file. Not to mention the shuffle feature doesn't shuffle everything, it only shuffles up to a limit instead of the entire folder. And there's now queue either.

When you scan a document, it’s saved in your device’s Scanned folder.
“Documents & other” category is now called “Documents” to make it easier to find PDF files. Other files, like backup and database files, can be found in “Downloads” or “Internal storage”.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll roll out search improvements like recently opened files, quick results, and dropdown filters to make finding files even easier.
