This allows the app to understand when connectivity exists to give you the data you need.

Other various permissions allow the app to: receive google notifications, process notifications while the device is trying to sleep, access American’s web services, and vibrate for important messages.

Ratings and reviews

Absolutely the worst airline app I've used. Flight details in the app are non-existent, you have to go to the mobile website to get any info. Other apps at least link to their mobile site. Worse, the app stops working if you don't use it for a few days. The last couple trips I have had on AA I have had to uninstall and reinstall the app just to check in and get my boarding pass, even on separate legs of the same trip. AA is horrible all around as an airline, and they live down to that here.

Whenever I try to "Manage Trip", it says "Access denied", so I can't add my frequent flyer number. I've cleared cache, cleared data, and reinstalled the app twice, and rebooted my phone afterwards, then cleared all again. Frustrating. If it is supposed to make things easier, it's failing miserably. Whenever it worked in the past, it was slow. Now, it just does not work at all. Way to go..

I've had issues with this apps functionality. For example, I occasionally have issues with the booking section when I am trying to put in destination or departure cities and it won't register it at all. Additionally, I've had issues where I was about to book a trip and the App freezes, crashes, and when you reload it's raised the ticket prices. I've flown on other airlines instead just due to the frustration.
