Google Maps Go is the lightweight Progressive Web App variation of the original Google Maps app.

This version requires Chrome (if you do not wish to install Chrome, please use www.google.com/maps in your browser instead).

I was initially impressed with Google Maps 'Light' - as I termed it when 1st downloaded. You know what's coming..... BUT! After several months of installing & with minimal use on this fone, I've discovered that it has an annoying need for frequent Updates, which has steadily increased it's Size & Demand on Services, Memory & Battery! To such an extent that I've placed it in "Sleep mode" almost permanently! It's very nearly "Coma Mode"! So now I'm thinking; "Time to try a different App?" 🤔

Not bad, works for the minimal functionality on previewing routes but doesn't give turn by turn navigation, and does not let me update my lists in the full Maps app. It feels like this is needed with the full Maps app in order to be able to explore places while the new Maps does the navigation or vice versa. Either way, the full Maps place should let me explore the map while it's navigating or this Go version should give me access to modify the lists from my Google account. It feels incomplete.

Google Maps is an amazing app that helps me navigate the world with ease. It has accurate and detailed maps, real-time traffic and transit information, and useful features like offline maps, street view, and indoor maps. I can also discover new places, read reviews, and share my opinions with others.
