I will be honest, I haven't made it past the opening welcome screens. Two things keep me from moving forward. 1. Not being able to convert existing accounts. 2. Not being able to control devices / profiles for kids over then 13. This last one is a big one for me. The part I have always struggled with is the balance between access to the great parts of the Internet and the access to the dark parts of the Internet. I should be able to use a tool that helps keep my 15 year old from porn or snap chat.
It's ridiculous that I am not allowed to add my daughter's EXISTING Google account. Why does she need a whole new one? It doesn't make any sense.
It will eventually be a 5 star app.. i cannot use an Galaxy s3 for my daughter. While I follow the directions I'm told the user name and password do not match. Not sure what to do now..
The idea is good, but after going through all the steps I wasn't able to log in to my kid's tablet with the account created through family link. Said password was wrong. Changed password just to be sure. If I log on using the web interface it says the account can't go here?
Two things. Needs to allow us to add existing accounts and support older versions of Android. The cheap $50 tablets we give our kid's comes with Kit Kat & Marshmallow
So far the app is looking good. My biggest issue is that my child's account does not have access to the family library in Google play. I hope this is a planned feature!
