Google Voice gives you a phone number for calling, text messaging, and voicemail. It works on smartphones and computers, and syncs across your devices so you can use the app in the office, at home, or on the go.

NOTE: Google Voice only works for personal Google Accounts in the US and Google Workspace accounts in select markets. Text messaging is not supported in all markets.

Keep in mind:
• Google Voice is currently only available in the US. Google Voice for Google Workspace users is available in select countries. Check with your administrator for access.
• Calls made using Google Voice for Android can be placed through a Google Voice access number. All access number based calls use the standard minutes from your cell phone plan and may incur costs (e.g. when traveling internationally).

Ratings and reviews

Works but has limited features. I wish that Google would give Voice the same features as Messages. You can't share video files, only pictures. You can't react to texts in Voice like you can in Messages & those who use Messages or an iPhone & react to a text, it comes across as a separate text. They clearly have those features available & I'd love to see it integrated into the Voice app. Other than the aforementioned features lacking; the app works as a basic messaging & communication hub.

I don't like how there is no emoticon emphasis, I can't attach videos, I can't get calls or switcheasy back and forth between Google voices and a lot of times this app messes up my ability to call out especially when I'm driving around it makes it quite hard to function on my phone. The only reason I stick with this app is because I've had years under these numbers so I feel like I'm kind of trapped. Probably the best VoIP but I'm not happy with them. Someone should step up and I'll switch

Love the app. Handles lots of functions, light on the complexity and clean, clutter pollution free, and focus friendly interface. Happy to see and use it's reliability and consistency over all of the years past and present. To whomever all involved with this application project: Well done, congratulations. --- I surely find the dialog much more smooth than another chat program i explicitly relied on for SMS messaging.
