Google Messages is the official Google app for messaging. Google Messages is revolutionizing how a billion users connect and is powered by Rich Communication Services (RCS), the industry standard for texting that replaces SMS and MMS. With RCS, you can share high resolution photos and videos, enjoy dynamic group chats, and seamlessly connect with other RCS users including your iPhone friends.
• Rich Communication: Share high-quality photos and videos, see when friends are typing, and enjoy dynamic group chats that now seamlessly include your iPhone friends. • Personal Touch: Make conversations uniquely yours with features like custom chat bubble colors or fun selfie gifs. • Privacy Matters: Rest easy knowing your personal chats are protected with end-to-end encryption between Google Messages users, so no one (including Google and third parties) can read or view your messages and attachments except the person you’re messaging. Plus, enjoy advanced spam protection. • AI-Powered Messaging: Craft the perfect message with Magic Compose suggestions and our latest AI features. • Seamless Across Devices: Start a chat on your phone and continue it effortlessly on your tablet or computer. The app is also available on Wear OS.
Google Messages is more than just messaging; it's a richer, safer, and more expressive way to connect.
App is also available on Wear OS. Availability of RCS varies by region and carrier and a data plan may be required. Availability of features varies by market and device and sign up for beta testing may be required.

I'm so mad I had to switch from Samsung messages to this. first of all, when I transferred my texts, only the ones I received came over. nothing I have ever sent is there. I also hate how you can't customize font or background, or group certain people together in a tab. so many things are way behind and it's so frustrating. why would they discontinue a superior app? I have tried deleting and redownloading to fix issue of my sent texts not appearing and it didn't work.

Make it like Verizon Messenger+ was!!!! please and thank you! It doesn't even show the same font that my phone is set for!!! Can't change bubble colors, can't set background pics, can't have a signature set, can't customize anything, there is a whole lot of can't on this app. Very disappointing. We need more custom options!!! My friends miss my signature even!

This app is a joke... I can't believe I have until Jul 6 and then be forced to use this junk. I kept getting a message saying I'll have to switch to this in a few months so I tried it... Either the app opens or it doesn't. I even updated it. My messages load in when I do get it to open and then if I click into one message and come back out of the message it doesn't load my messages again. So I have close out. And then the App wont open again for several tries. This is pure trash.

Hi Des. Can you try to uninstall and reinstall the Google Messages app itself? To do so, open the Play Store app. Search "Google Messages". Tap Uninstall and then Reinstall or Update. Hope this helps.
