Google Voice gives you a phone number for calling, text messaging, and voicemail. It works on smartphones and computers, and syncs across your devices so you can use the app in the office, at home, or on the go.

NOTE: Google Voice only works for personal Google Accounts in the US and Google Workspace accounts in select markets. Text messaging is not supported in all markets.

Keep in mind:
• Google Voice is currently only available in the US. Google Voice for Google Workspace users is available in select countries. Check with your administrator for access.
• Calls made using Google Voice for Android can be placed through a Google Voice access number. All access number based calls use the standard minutes from your cell phone plan and may incur costs (e.g. when traveling internationally).

Google voice has been my go to app for VoIP since day 1. I use it on my laptop with Chrome and have used it on many Android devices with no issues. I like that you get a different number besides your cell number too. I can send unlimited messages, make unlimited calls and receive pics, gifs, and files. When my mobile device doesn't have service somewhere, Google Voice backs me up. Thanks! I highly recommend this app versus text now or telegram. There's no ads, it's free and no scammers!!

I have been using Google Voice for years! I love being able to have the same number I've had for decades, despite having gone through numerous phones, without porting my number each time! I also live that I can make and receive calls, and read and send messages, from my laptop, my phone, and my tablet! The spam blocking works pretty well -- some manage to get past any system! -- and messages get sent to me as a text so I don't often have to listen to them.

Declining calls with a text message feature would be helpful to have - at least the callers from the cellphone will receive it and will be able to text instead. For regular callers they shall be able to leave a voicemail. Screening calls in several languages option would be great to have, or where the account holder records that prompt as an option, as some callers apparently don't know English and don't understand what the system is asking, or think that name prompt is a voicemail.
